Project ECHO by Health Net Pakistan collaborates with Ferozsons

Ferozsons collaborated with HealthNet Pakistan that is responsible for running Project ECHO under the leadership of Dr. Asad Chaudhary. The collaboration raises awareness for hepatitis and is a part of a multi-tier approach to address the issue of rising hepatitis infections in Pakistan.
Project ECHO youth ambassadors visited Government Elementary School in the Garjakh District of Gujranwala. The student youth ambassador’s team comprised of Ali Butt, Fakhar Amir Aslam, Hafsa Asad, Haris Ali, Mobeen Gohar and Sinan Waheed. The session was inaugurated with Dr. Chaudhry’s address to over 400 students and teachers. The ambassadors played a key role in spreading the message, supporting in management of the event and also interacted with the students in one to one and small group sessions to reiterate focal messages about Hepatitis prevention and cure. Musharraf Ali Farooqi’s “Moochander ki Nirali Moochein,” which are children’s short stories written for hepatitis awareness were narrated by storyteller Sohail Raza in an interesting fashion that caught the interest of all participants.
Project ECHO (Extension for Community Healthcare Outcomes) is a collaborative model of medical education and care management that empowers clinicians everywhere to provide better care to more people, right where they live. Project ECHO transforms the way education and knowledge are delivered to reach more people in rural and underserved communities. HealthNet Pakistan, led by Dr. Asad Chaudhry in Pakistan is implementing Project ECHO in Pakistan for Hepatitis and Liver care.
